Surfside

Pristine beaches and fresh salty air await you on the beautiful, south shore of Nantucket. Surfside is just an hour walk from downtown (7,000 steps), a 3 mile bike ride on the Surfside bike path, or 15 minute ride on the WAVE Surfside bus route.

The Surfside area offers not one, but four beaches to stroll – Fisherman’s, Stone’s, Nobadeer and Surfside – all in one mile of picturesque, walkable coastline.

It is just over a 3 mile bike ride from downtown to the Surfside area, most on a dedicated, paved (and flat) bike path. Rent a bike downtown, along the route, or have it delivered to your house or hotel.

Public Transit:

The WAVE bus runs between downtown (Greenhound Building at 10 Washington Street) and the Surfside beach parking lot, departing every 40 minutes. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. $3 per person cash is collected upon entering the bus.
